Veteran Alicia Brown Has Taken On DOLL, INC’s Mission As Her Own!

Our first town home redevelopment project will cost $120,000.  One of 24 town homes located in Ford Heights, Illinois, The Smith Residences Veterans Village will redevelop the first of twenty-four buildings, (totaling 96 town homes).  These buildings consist of eight (8) – 1 bedroom apartments and two (2) to five (5) bedroom town homes.

These apartments will answer the overwhelming calls we receive from homeless Veterans seeking a permanent place to call home.   We need your help in securing $120,000 for this town home.  With a contribution of $25,000 or more, it will help us answer the overwhelming plea of homeless Veterans for housing in Illinois.

The captioned photo is Alicia P. Brown, who successfully served in both the Army and the Navy, from May 1987 until April 2005.  She is a Veteran who returned from service with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which can be a crippling condition for many Veterans.  Through help from an organization, like DOLL, INC., Alicia Brown is on the road to recovery.  Currently, Alicia serves as a Spinal Cord Nurse at Hines-VA Hospital.  She understands the difficulties Veterans face every day.  Alicia has taken on DOLL, INC.’s mission as her own and has joined forces with us to serve our fellow Veterans.  She now serves as board member to this growing organization.

Another great need we have are volunteers.  We love volunteers!  Join us as we work to keep the grounds clean.  Commercial lawn mowers, rakes, garden supplies are welcome.  Volunteers to help cut bushes and trees are needed.  We welcome company team building projects to help in redevelopment and grounds keeping.
